Rodarte teaches us how to be authentic to become universally loved w/ it’s Spring-Summer 2020: a visual feast

Rodarte gave us portraits instead of a catwalk. Between Greek columns of marble, long gloves, flowers and the most important artists of the moment the firm gave us a visual feast.

Rodarte’s entire campaign for his new collection was completely visual. With thirty photos uploaded on Instagram, the brand decided to give its show another approach. Among the celebrities were the Haim, Kirsten Dunst, Yalitza Aparicio, Alexa Demie, January Jones and Kiernan Shipka, just to name a few.

In the designs, skirts, dresses, and several bright pants predominate, there are also polka dot prints, and among the colors stand out tones such as pale mint, gold, champagne, and pale pink. All the pieces are finished by hand just as our GAROFANO bridal bouquets. For fashion specialists, this Rodarte collection is a sign of the importance of craftsmanship for Kate and Laura Mulleavy and show the impeccable of her pieces after having worked with actresses and girlfriends, in movies and operas. This feature reflects it in their designs and separates it from other more commercial fashion houses.

In addition to all the staging and dresses, we cannot leave behind all the makeup and styling. Simple makeup and finger waves, collected or straight hair was specifically styling. Pearls in the hair as a kind of headdress or accessory were the common denominator, but there was also an occasional actress who put a floral accessory on her hair.

“As we’ve become more confident and comfortable in our design voice and really seeing what our personality is within the design world, it’s been really nice to think artistically about creating a world behind each collection,” said Laura Mulleavy to Vogue.

The best, without a doubt, of this collection, was the authenticity and great attention to detail of the brand. Probably if we had to choose a design it would be the mint green dress of Kirsten Dunst and to give it the final touch we would add a crown of our exquisite GAROFANO that would fit it perfectly with Rodarte’s design.

Rodarte gave us a visual feast. Pieces that are not costumes and that are ready to use, from the most coveted actress of Hollywood to the bride who wants a fairytale wedding, or in this case, a painting photographed in the best style of Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
